Tickets for Wednesday and Thursday Only on Sale - Adults: $10.00, Students: $8.00
Ticket good for all day – one day

Attendance at State Basketball Games
Any student wishing to attend Girls State Basketball Games during school time will need to bring a note from home, and check out through the attendance office. No phone calls will be made to parents by the Attendance Office.

Follies:
If your student is selected to perform at Follies the arrival time for rehearsals and performances will be posted Tuesday morning in front of the ASB Secretaries Office. On Tuesday there will be a mandatory cast meeting in the Drama Room from 3:00-3:30. Rehearsals will start Tuesday evening at 6:00.

Follies tickets will go on sale Tuesday during both lunches in front of the Theatre. There will only be two performances of Follies
Friday and Saturday night at 7:30. Be sure to get your tickets in advance!

New Bus Passes
Students will be able to get their new bus pass in the Main Office. You will need to turn in your old bus pass and show your student ID. If your student lost their bus pass, a new Metro Application is needed.

Knight Valor
Knight Valor representatives will be at school on March 5th during both lunches, outside the office. Students can get forms, turn in hours and check their hours. All KV hours must be turned in by April 24th.

Jazz Band News: Great news for Newport Jazz 1 Band. The Band auditioned and were picked to compete in the Essentially Ellington Jazz Competition in NYC in May 2009. This is an incredible honor. Only 15 bands nationwide are picked to compete. There are 3 local area schools that are part of the competition: Newport, Garfield and Roosevelt. These bands are playing in the Hot Java Cool Jazz concert coming up on March 27. So, if you can't make it to the Essentially Ellington in NYC, Hot Java Cool Jazz will be a great opportunity to hear these great bands. Tickets for the events below are available now.

AP Mock Exam
The list of students taking the AP Mock exam in May, instead of the regular AP Exam, is now posted outside the Main Office. Your student will be expected to attend the exam, not doing so will result in disciplinary action. A final schedule, with locations, will be sent to your student in late April. If there is an error, please contact Ms. Suppes immediately.

This camp was developed to provide girls with a better understanding of what a career in technology is all about. This five day experience provides opportunities to learn about careers in technology, talk with Microsoft employees about their life experiences, and enjoy hands-on computer and technology workshops. Community Service Opportunities:
Cascade Land Conservancy has volunteer opportunities in March, and April for students who like to get outdoors as well as for those that like to support environmental issues and open space conservation without the risk of getting muddy.

Special Olympics Coaches Needed to help with track events coaching adult teams with developmental disabilities prepare for this year’s Special Olympics.

Northwest Folklife Festival is looking for clubs or groups seeking a way to get out into the public’s view. This opportunity to volunteer within the Festival provides a fantastic and positive environment for the students and their friends, and can also be used as community service.

Mountain to Sounds Greenway has March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, and April 4th available to pick up some volunteer hours.

The Seattle Aquarium has an exciting high school Volunteer Program for students ages 16-18 to immerse themselves in marine science and earn community service hours. Orientation will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 11:00 am – 12:00pm or Thursday, March 12th from 5:00 – 6:00. Any interested students must attend this MANDATORY meeting.
