Welcome, Class of 2011 Parents!

Hi, there – Thanks very much for sharing your email address with me at tonight’s Eighth Grade Parent Night at Newport.

The Newport PTSA Presentation, “Making the Move to Newport,” will be held on Tuesday, May 29 at 7 p.m. in the Newport High School Library. This is the day after Memorial Day, so we’ll all be tanned & relaxed. ”Making the Move to Newport” covers all the stuff that wasn’t covered today….more info about sports paperwork, how Newport communicates with parents & students, what to expect on your calendar, what financial costs to expect….and much, much more. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS IT!!

Wanted to make sure you had the Newport High School website address:
http://www.bsd405.org/nhs/homepage/ I encourage you all to visit it and check out the great info there. The FAQ is particularly interesting to 8th grade parents.

Email List – I will be working hard the next few weeks to add names to this email list. Tonight I got about 150 names, which is wonderful, but that also means I’m missing about 350 names. So I’m hoping you will help me out by forwarding this information to any lists you might have of other parents of incoming 8th graders – sports teams, friends, neighbors, 8th grade party planning committees, and the like. I want to add them to my list!

I especially need your help if you are coming from a school other than Odle, International, Tyee, or Tillicum. I can advertise the presentation pretty well to those parents via their office staff & PTSA leaders….but for all others I am at a disadvantage and really need you to help me spread the word to other families headed to Newport.

First Problem – I got back only six of the eight signup sheets I distributed….so about 65 people think they gave me their email names but alas, I didn’t get them. Hope whoever took them home will notice they have ‘em & return the sheets to the office. Or to me….

Thanks very much, and welcome to my favorite high school!!

Audrey

Legal bits: I am bound by the same PTSA restrictions that cover our directories – no commercial, political, or ideological stuff allowed. I also put all names in the BCC line to preserve your privacy. Requests for removal cheerfully honored.
