Driving School Options

Many of our kids are ready for driver’s education this summer. Here are some options that can also benefit our NHS Class of 2011. Let the registrar of the driving school know that your child is a Newport High School Student.

Reflections Program 2007-2008
Next year’s Reflections theme is “I can make a difference by…” the rules and more information will be available later, but usually they remain the same as past years.

Participating in Reflections Program is an opportunity for all students to explore and learn about various art forms. The program offers students the chance to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students are encouraged to create and submit artworks in these areas: literature, musical composition, photography, visual arts (which include art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage), film/video and choreography/ dance.

Attention early birds: we will have drawings for the entries submitted by the end of September 2007, one in each category. It will be your choice of an iTunes, Target or Barnes and Noble gift card.

Please remember each entry must be work of only ONE person, all the entries submitted by more than one name will be disqualified.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Al Garman, Reflections Chair:

Class of 2011 Liaison

Hey Freshman Parents!

I have taken on the role of PTSA Liaison for the Class of 2011. I will be sending periodic emails offering info about events & activities at Newport:
· Class-specific information
· Late breaking info that didn’t make it into the newsletter
· Helpful news of particular interest to Freshman parents

I am a parent from Tyee and my daughter is Katie. I have been cross-checking Audrey’s list with my list from Tyee’s 8th grade class and I know that we are missing some names. So if you know of someone that has not been receiving information from Audrey from Tillicum, Tyee or other schools, please pass this email on to them and have these parents get in touch with me so that I can add them to the database. Bear with me as I jump into this and my apologies if this is duplicate information for some of you!
