(These messages are sent to the parents of students in the Class of 2011 at Newport High School. If your student is no longer at Newport, please let me know so I can cease & desist. Requests for removal cheerfully honored.)

---------------------------------------------------

Kudos to our Sophomore Class Officers
One of the jobs these students will have is to start raising funds for the 2011 Prom and 2011 Graduation, primarily through the sales of Class sweats and other fundraisers over the next 3 years.

Powder Puff Football
If your daughter is interested in playing Powderpuff football, please have her turn in her forms and payment no later than Friday, May 9th at the table in the commons during both lunches! Thank you for your help!

End of Season Recognition
Do let me know if your Freshman has earned any special recognition in their sport or activity during the spring so that I can recognize him or her!! And let me know of any team sport accomplishments, sometimes this information is hard to get in a timely manner.

Soccer - The Frosh-Soph soccer team pulled out a final win on Monday night (after being down) to finish 13-0-1 for the season.

Girls Water Polo - Congratulations to the Varsity team for winning their league on Friday Night with at 12-5 victory over Mercer Island. With this win, Newport is the #1 seed for state.

There are a couple of seats remaining at Newport's tables at the Bellevue Schools Foundation's Spring for Schools luncheon. Please let me know if you want to sit with us. The luncheon is Thursday, June 5 from about 11:30 to about 1:15. You can do it from 12 to 1 if you're pressed for time but want to allow the extra time for visiting if you can.

---------------------------------------------------

Baccalaureate
One more update on the time - June 8 from 2:00-3:00 pm only, with a short reception following.

---------------------------------------------------

List Maintenance
Now is the time to update my Class of 2011 list. Please let me know if there are any changes to your email address. I have had a few emails undeliverable because of having the wrong email address. My goal is to get all families of students on my list by the time they are Seniors. And there are about 50 families not receiving my emails. If you know of anyone not receiving these emails, please pass this message along to them. I'd love to be able to add them to the list.

And if your student has befriended anyone new to Newport, please consider referring them to the blog for new and archive info.
